San Antonians are urged to GO NATIVE at the 2nd annual NATIVE SAN ANTONIO! celebration, set for Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. This free event is open to the public and will be held at the beautiful Land Heritage Institute, which is across from the Toyota plant on the Medina River (between the Medina River Natural Area and Mitchell Lake Audubon Center).

NATIVE SAN ANTONIO! is a fun outdoor family event that will celebrate all things NATIVE to San Antonio and educate participants about the incredible resources we have right here in our own backyard. Here are a some of the activities we have planned:

Native Tree Giveaway

Native Plant Sales

Interpretive nature walks

Local Music

Native American hot rocks cooking demonstration

Local ranching history and chuck wagon demonstrations

Hay rides and longhorn viewing

Education and conservation tips

Contemporary arts and craft
